Position Overview

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver safe and efficient direct patient care.
- Demonstrate strong decision-making skills in critical and emergency situations.
- Develop and implement patient-specific care plans using the nursing process.
- Serve as a patient advocate, facilitating communication between patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Participate in patient care conferences, contributing to treatment planning and coordination.
- Effectively utilise clinical, hospital, and community resources to support patient care.
- Ensure safe and economical use of medical equipment and supplies.
- Provide guidance and direction to support personnel.
- Assume in-charge duties as needed, managing team operations effectively.
- Stay at the forefront of professional practice by participating in continuing education and professional organisations.
Qualifications & Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Education: Registered Nurse with a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma from an accredited institution.
- Certification: Nursing Specialty Certification in Emergency Nursing (preferred).
- Advanced Training: Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) certification (preferred).
- Licensure: Current registration with the Bermuda Nursing Council.
- Experience: Minimum of two years’ recent continuous experience in an Emergency Department.
- Essential Certifications:
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Skills: Proven expertise in physical assessment and clinical competencies.
