Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care safely and efficiently.
- Exhibit exceptional decision-making abilities in critical situations.
- Utilise the nursing process to develop care plans for assigned patients.
- Act as a patient advocate, facilitating communication between the patient, their family, and the health care team.
- Initiate and participate in patient care conferences.
- Leverage clinical, hospital, and community resources effectively.
- Use equipment and supplies in a safe and economical manner.
- Assign, advise, and direct support personnel as needed.
- Assume in-charge duties as required.
- Take responsibility for professional development through continuing education programmes, staying current with professional literature, and participating in professional organisations.
Qualifications & Registration Requirements:
- Registered Nurse with a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma from an accredited institution.
- Nursing Specialty Certification in Emergency Nursing, preferred.
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) certification – Emergency Nurses Association, preferred.
- Current registration as required by the Bermuda Nursing Council.
- A minimum of two years of recent continuous experience as a Registered Nurse in an Emergency Department.
- Current certifications: American Heart Association (AHA), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Essential experience in physical assessment.
- Demonstrated knowledge and clinical competencies.
