Key Responsibilities:
As a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care. Your duties will include:

  • Providing direct patient care safely and efficiently.
  • Making critical decisions in high-pressure situations with confidence.
  • Developing and implementing personalised care plans using the nursing process.
  • Advocating for patients by facilitating communication between patients, families, and the healthcare team.
  • Participating in patient care conferences to discuss and enhance patient outcomes.
  • Using hospital, clinical, and community resources effectively.
  • Ensuring safe and economical use of equipment and supplies.
  • Providing leadership by assigning, advising, and directing support staff.
  • Taking charge of the team when required.
  • Committing to ongoing professional development through continuing education, reading professional literature, and participating in relevant organisations.

Qualifications & Registration Requirements:
To excel in this role, you’ll need:

  • Registered Nurse qualification with a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma from an accredited institution.
  • Nursing Specialty Certification in Emergency Nursing (preferred).
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) certification – Emergency Nurses Association (preferred).
  • Current registration with the Bermuda Nursing Council.
  • A minimum of two years of recent continuous experience as a Registered Nurse in an Emergency Department.
  • Current certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Strong experience in physical assessments and demonstrated clinical competencies.
