Key Responsibilities:
As a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care. Your duties will include:
- Providing direct patient care safely and efficiently.
- Making critical decisions in high-pressure situations with confidence.
- Developing and implementing personalised care plans using the nursing process.
- Advocating for patients by facilitating communication between patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Participating in patient care conferences to discuss and enhance patient outcomes.
- Using hospital, clinical, and community resources effectively.
- Ensuring safe and economical use of equipment and supplies.
- Providing leadership by assigning, advising, and directing support staff.
- Taking charge of the team when required.
- Committing to ongoing professional development through continuing education, reading professional literature, and participating in relevant organisations.
Qualifications & Registration Requirements:
To excel in this role, you’ll need:
- Registered Nurse qualification with a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma from an accredited institution.
- Nursing Specialty Certification in Emergency Nursing (preferred).
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) certification – Emergency Nurses Association (preferred).
- Current registration with the Bermuda Nursing Council.
- A minimum of two years of recent continuous experience as a Registered Nurse in an Emergency Department.
- Current certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and American Heart Association (AHA).
- Strong experience in physical assessments and demonstrated clinical competencies.
