Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Specialist Social Worker within the Supported Living Team to work Part Time (27 Hours) based in Hull.
The salary for this permanent Specialist Social Worker job is up to £40,221 per annum.
Main duties:
- To promote and safeguard the welfare of children, young people and/or vulnerable adults.
- Conduct skills active listening and confidently facilitate difficult conversation to ensure people’s hopes and wishes are supported as much as possible and that support is planned, effective, timely and value for money.
- Support the development of staff/team to promote an approach to people who use services that is based on the principles of co-production.
- To promote and develop integrated and collaborative ways of working to ensure that the best possible outcomes are achieved.
- Supervises and develops staff through a variety of forum e.g. 1-1 practice development, reflected practice, mentor, coaching and adopting an approach of high support high challenge.
- Works with complex cases that require autonomous decision making, multi-agency/disciplinary co-ordination and legal preparation and planning. This would also include undertaking S42 Enquiries into safeguarding concerns.
- Implements council policies and procedures to effectively manage staff and team activity.
- Coordinate services and people in relation to a transition of care and support for young people moving into adult services. To support families and carers to adjust to changing circumstances. To oversee delivery of personalised care and support which is non-intrusive, proportionate and timely.
- Contributes to team planning, effectiveness and responsiveness. Supports team manager with improving practice and performance of individuals/team by providing day to day support and supervision.
- Actively engages in practice development forums/meetings ensuring focussed and purposeful discussions lead to improved social work practice providing professional input as required.
- Contribute to the education/learning and development of newly qualified/newly appointed social workers by overseeing their induction/completion of ASYE.
- Works collaboratively with colleagues to ensure that people’s outcomes are achieved e.g. facilitating joint reviews/assessments.
- Ensures that case recording is accurate, up to date, in line with legislation and is available for a variety of purposes e.g. multi-agency, meetings, strategy meetings, panels, reviews, court.
- Supports Line Manager to review working practices to deliver a continuously improving responsive service that recognises individual need, strengths and resilience communicates and encourages innovation, motivation, understanding and vision.
Requirements of this Specialist Social Worker role:
- A social Work Qualification or equivalent.
- Understanding of relevant legislation.
- Registered or eligible for registration.
