Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Specialist Social Worker within the Adult Mental Health & Learning Disability Team to work Full Time based in Hull.
The salary for this Specialist Social Worker job is up to £41,511 per annum.
Main duties:
- Conduct skills active listening and confidently facilitate difficult conversations to ensure people’s hopes and wishes are efficiently and timely planned and supported. Support the development of staff/team to promote an approach to people who use services that is based on the principles of co-production.
- Supervises and develops staff through a variety of forum e.g. 1-1 practice development, reflected practice, mentor, coaching including providing honest and constructive challenge/feedback.
- Engages in complex cases that require autonomous decision-making, multi-agency/disciplinary co-ordination and or legal preparation and planning.
- Coordinate services and people in relation to a transition of care and support for young people moving into adult services. To support families and carers to adjust to changing circumstances.
- Contributes to team planning, effectiveness and responsiveness. Supports team manager with improving practice and performance of individuals/team by providing day-to-day education and supervision.
- Actively engages in practice development forums/meetings ensuring focussed and purposeful discussions lead to improved social work practice providing professional input as required.
- Contribute to the education/learning and development of newly qualified/newly appointed social workers by overseeing their induction/completion of ASYE.
- As directed prepares and attends decision making forums including supporting co-workers with decisions relating to complex/high risk cases.
- Works collaboratively with colleagues to ensure that people’s outcomes are achieved e.g. facilitating joint reviews/assessments.
- Ensures that case recording is accurate, up to date, in line with legislation and is available for a variety of purposes e.g. Multi-agency, meetings, strategy meetings, panels, reviews, court.
- Supports Line Manager to review working practices to deliver a continuously improving responsive service that recognises individual need, strengths and resilience communicates and encourages innovation, motivation, understanding and vision.
Requirements of this Specialist Social Worker job:
- A social Work Qualification or equivalent.
- Understanding of relevant legislation.
- Registered or eligible for registration.
