The salary for this permanent Reporting Radiographer job is £65,805 to £73,304 per annum.

Main duties:

  • Undertake a wide range of specialist clinical work, to include highly complex procedures and the administration of intravenous, oral and/or rectal drugs to patients.
  • Work independently within an agreed scope of practice, with responsibility and accountability for own clinical work. As an expert to demonstrate a high level of skill in clinical situations. This work may include forensic imaging where the work can be distressing. Includes participation in an on-call service.
  • Assess, interpret and report highly specialist/complex examinations from a variety of clinical and imaging sources using free text; taking responsibility for making decisions which will have a direct impact on patient management and treatment.
  • Care for patients who may be very ill, have a range of complex needs and who can be vulnerable. When carrying out intimate examinations special care and attention is required. If safeguarding issues are identified, to be responsible for making a referral.
  • Interpret, share, implement and monitor Government and National policies, standards and guidelines within the specialist area. Adhere to appropriate legislation, the Government of Jersey, HCS and Radiology policies and procedures. Work with the Modality Manager to develop and implement risk assessments.
  • Carry out clinical audit and make recommendations for changes in practice where evidence supports this and communicate/present findings to peers and other healthcare professionals.

 

Requirements of the Reporting Radiographer:

  • You must have a post graduate qualification chest reporting plus preferably MSK, and either have, or be willing to work towards, a Masters degree and SOR accreditation.
  • BSc (Hon) Radiography or equivalent Degree in a healthcare or science subject
  • Post Graduate qualification in one or more Radiographer Reporting disciplines(minimum specialist qualification) or Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Ultrasound (minimum specialist qualification)
  • HCPC registration for all radiographers
  • Highly specialised and practical knowledge of an extensive range of specialist modality examinations.
  • Extensive knowledge of medical conditions; pathology, normal appearances and developmental variants in relation to the specialist modality.
