Role Summary:
As a Senior Support Lead, you will play a crucial role in the daily management and operation of the community-based service. Working closely with the Deputy Manager, you’ll provide leadership and guidance to a team that delivers high-quality care and support to individuals in the community, helping them to regain independence and live fulfilling lives.

This community-focused role requires flexibility, as the team operates across a 7-day week to ensure continuity of care. Your responsibilities will include both direct and indirect care, ensuring that all service users are supported in their journey towards greater independence. The Senior Support Lead will also oversee the care team, maintain high care standards, and ensure that company Policies, Procedures, and Care Standards Regulations are strictly followed.

In addition, you may be required to step in for the Team Leader when needed, ensuring that the service continues to meet all required standards while providing continuous support to your team in the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the team to ensure high standards of care are maintained at all times within the community setting.
  • Provide both direct and indirect care to service users in the community, supporting them to develop their skills and gain independence.
  • Ensure all care and support plans are regularly updated and risk assessments are completed.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff, fostering a culture of learning and development.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant Care Standards Regulations.
  • Step in for the Team Leader as necessary, maintaining service continuity and quality standards.

Requirements of the Role:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Care (Adult) or Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (Adult).
  • Proven management or supervisory experience in a social care environment, ideally in a community setting.
  • Experience working with individuals with additional needs, including behaviours that may challenge.
  • Ability to write and implement care/support plans and risk assessments.
  • Compassionate, caring, and committed to promoting independence through outcome-based care.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Knowledge and understanding of CQC standards and care compliance.
  • Experience with rota systems and flexible scheduling.
