What you will do:

  • Manage a caseload involving complex cases requiring urgent intervention, focusing on vulnerable service users.
  • Conduct holistic assessments in accordance with the Care Act, identifying needs and assessing risks to promote independence and wellbeing.
  •  Take decisive actions to safeguard adults at risk of abuse or neglect, ensuring compliance with statutory duties and policies.
  •  Develop personalised support plans that adhere to assessed needs and incorporate the least restrictive interventions possible.
  •  Collaborate effectively with various agencies to deliver coordinated care and support.
  • Maintain comprehensive records and prepare detailed reports for internal purposes and external agencies.
  •  Contribute to the development of your team by mentoring colleagues, supervising students, and engaging in training initiatives.
  •  Participate in the duty rota, providing prompt responses to urgent cases.
  •  Promote equality and diversity through a commitment to anti-discriminatory practices.


Requirements:

  • Possession of a recognised Social Work qualification (e.g., DipSW) and registration with Social Work England (SWE).
  •  A minimum of two years of post-qualification experience in a social work setting, particularly with adults facing mental health challenges.
  •  Strong assessment skills, knowledge of relevant legislation such as the Care Act and Mental Health Act, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency in IT systems.
  •  Capacity to work under pressure, effectively organising workload, showing resilience, and maintaining professional relationships.


Desirable Attributes:

  •  Experience in court work or working with ethnic minority families.
  •  Knowledge of South Asian languages such as Urdu, Punjabi, or Hindi.
