Salary: £32,000 - £36,000 per annum

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently set up the operating theatre and anaesthetic room, ensuring all equipment and supplies are ready and organised to meet specific procedural requirements. Maintain high standards of cleanliness and minimise waste.
  • Independently manage theatre lists, coordinating with surgical teams and healthcare professionals to ensure smooth operations and optimal patient care.
  • Oversee and mentor junior staff, providing guidance, support, and training to foster professional development and a collaborative work environment.
  • Administer and monitor anaesthetic agents, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the anaesthesia process.
  • Engage in continuous learning and participate in a range of surgical procedures to enhance skills and remain current with industry best practices.
  • Work closely with the surgical team, ensuring effective communication and coordination throughout the surgical process.
  • Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations, infection control protocols, and operational procedures to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Qualified Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) or Nurse with an Anaesthetic Module
  • Active registration with the NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) or HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) with no restrictions
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in anaesthetics, with experience in recovery being advantageous
  • Proven experience in a surgical or theatre setting
  • Highly motivated with a demonstrated ability to thrive in a challenging and rewarding environment
