Pay Rate: £300-£350 per day (assignment rate)

Contract: Locum, 3-Month contract

Duties:

  • Taking responsibility for the day-to-day management of the home.
  • Implementing child-centred practice and all procedures to protect children.
  • Manage and lead effective working relationships between team members, colleagues and external agencies.
  • Provide professional supervision to managers and staff in line with the Trust's policy on reflective supervision.
  • Take responsibility for your own continuing professional development and participate in the evaluation and development of your own practice.
  • Responsible for the Management of Health and Safety within the home, including acquiring the necessary skills and knowledge to discharge these responsibilities.
  • Contribute to service plans including the home development plans and Business continuity plans.
  • Ensuring the safety of staff and children by completing appropriate risk assessments.
  • Providing immediate ‘out-of-hours’ support to the home.  The Trust currently operates a paid on-call system for significant issues or incidents across the Trust's homes. 

Requirements of the Ofstead Residential Home Manager:

 

  • Level 3 Children, Young Person and Family Practitioner (or equivalent) qualification
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • An understanding of the needs of looked after young people
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations, legislation and statutory guidance
  • An understanding of intervention strategies
