Nuclear Medicine Technologist Pay Rate: £26 per hour (assignment rate)

 Main duties of the Nuclear Medicine Technologist:

  • Carry out any duties in Nuclear Medicine under the direction of the Chief Technologist
  • Work cross site at either the Colchester or Ipswich Nuclear Medicine Department where required, sometimes at short notice
  • Administer Radiopharmaceuticals under the direction of the ARSAC licence holder, according to departmental protocols
  • Care for any patient undergoing a Radionuclide investigation
  • Perform imaging in accordance with Departmental protocols

Requirements of the Nuclear Medicine Technologist:

  • BSc in Clinical Technology with specialisation in Nuclear Medicine during the degree or BSc in Radiography, which takes three years, and then specialise in Nuclear Medicine, after first qualifying as a Radiographer.
  • Minimum 2 years Nuclear Medicine experience (Practical experience can be obtained by working in a Nuclear Medicine department)
  • NHS experience
  • Car driver preferable
