About the Role:

Sanctuary Personnel are looking for a dedicated professional to manage our client's team of registered nurses and healthcare assistants. You will ensure the effective assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of high standards of holistic care for an identified group of service users. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the nursing team to enhance the quality of care, providing support and advice to colleagues and families, and ensuring safe practice and competency.
  • Taking responsibility for a service user group, consulting with the multidisciplinary team, service users, and their families to assess the impact of policies on care delivery.
  • Working with the Head of Clinical Services/Ward Manager to assess potential service users, and developing and evaluating individualised care plans based on evidence-based guidelines.
  • Maintaining accurate records of service user consultations in accordance with legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensuring all clinical staff receive formal supervision and promoting the highest clinical standards through competency monitoring.
  • Identifying training needs and supporting staff development, encouraging a learning environment where everyone can learn from each other and external good practice.
  • Providing education to patients, carers, families, and colleagues, sharing knowledge through teaching, and acting as a mentor to students.

About You:

  • Registered Nurse or degree level qualification
  • Experience in specialist palliative or neurological care
  • Proven skills in leadership, building, and influencing within a clinical setting
  • Knowledge of current legislation in the independent care sector
  • Demonstrable experience of practicing in a self-directed and highly motivated manner
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to convey difficult messages to service users and their families
  • Negotiation and conflict management skills
  • Ability to manage change and performance effectively
  • Competence in providing teaching and mentorship in a clinical setting
