Sanctuary Personnel is currently seeking an experienced Band 7 CAMHS Clinical Nurse Specialist/Triage Coordinator to take on a new locum opportunity based in London, within the Child & Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS) & Eating Disorders Team

Location: Hillingdon

Contract Type: Locum, ongoing block booking.

Pay Rate: £30 per hour (assignment rate)

Main Duties:

  • CAMHS Assessments: Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and young people referred to the CAMHS team.
  • Screening/Triage: Provide initial screening and triage appointments for referred children and young people.
  • Case Management: Manage cases of young people awaiting treatment and contribute to specialist support plans for a range of presenting issues.
  • Treatment Planning: Develop treatment and management plans based on a sound conceptual framework and evidence-based methods across various care settings.
  • Risk Assessment: Perform risk assessments and manage risks for individual children and young people, providing advice on risk assessment and management to other professionals.
  • Care Plan Management: Act as case manager, initiating and reviewing CAMHS care plans in collaboration with children, their carers, referring agents, and other members of the care network.
  • Communication: Communicate skillfully and sensitively about assessment outcomes, treatment plans, and progress with children, young people, and their families.
  • Duty Rota Participation: Take part in the local duty rota to respond urgently to issues as needed, including working in evening clinics if required.
  • Crisis Support: Provide support to parents and young people in crisis or between clinic appointments.
  • Agency Liaison: Maintain close liaison with schools and other relevant agencies.
  • Reporting: Prepare reports for external agencies while ensuring confidentiality is managed appropriately.

Requirements of the CAMHS Clinical Nurse Specialist/Triage Coordinator:

  • Degree or equivalent in Mental Health Nursing
  • Proven experience as a Registered Mental Health Nurse
  • Valid NMC Registration
  • Experience of working with a wide variety of client group presenting with the full range of clinical severity around mental health concerns across a range of care settings including outpatient, community, primary care, in-patient and residential care settings.

     

  • Experience of working within a multidisciplinary Specialist CAMHS team and of proving specialist CAMHS assessment and intervention.

     

  • Experience of delivering evidence based care in a number of cultural contexts.

     

  • Experience of teaching, training and / or supervision.
