Sanctuary Personnel are seeking a skilled Surgical Care Practitioner to join our client's prestigious private healthcare facility in London, currently rated “Outstanding” by the CQC. Their theatres provide a vibrant, exciting, and professional environment, equipped with the latest and most advanced technology.

Their private care unit, part of a renowned London hospital, features four operating theatres offering a wide range of surgeries including Robotics, Urology, and Gynaecology. With three state-of-the-art DaVinci Surgical Systems, their theatres boast one of the largest multi-specialty private robotic programmes in the UK. They provide exceptional treatment across acute and complex care with 49 patient bedrooms and four Level 3 ICU beds, delivering a level of care rarely found in the private sector.

Successful candidates will join a large team of experienced theatre professionals. Their facility has a proven track record of supporting career progression, offering development opportunities to those seeking to advance their knowledge and expertise.

With 160 beds, 28 ICU beds, and 10 operating theatres, they utilise the latest technologies and healthcare innovations to offer exceptional treatment across a multitude of acute and complex care.

Role and Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Theatre Manager, you will lead a team of anaesthetic practitioners, working closely with scrub and recovery colleagues. You must have strong knowledge and experience in operating theatres, an excellent understanding of the perioperative needs of patients, and a wide knowledge of peri-operative nursing practices and procedures. You should be organised, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and possess experience in supervising a multi-disciplinary team to provide the highest standard of patient care across a varied caseload.

Shift Pattern:

  • Full time, 37.5 hours per week
  • Monday - Sunday, shift working

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Surgical Care Practitioner (SCP) with essential experience in Robotics (Da Vinci).
  • Registered as a healthcare professional (e.g., nurse or ODP) with a related honours degree.
  • Recent experience in theatre nursing.
  • A minimum of 18 months in a similar autonomous role is desirable.
  • Aptitude for clinical and operative practice.
  • Ability to effectively manage the clinical area on a day-to-day basis and plan ahead.
