Job Purpose:

Leverage your professional knowledge to assess, monitor, and review individual social care needs of children, relatives, and carers, adhering to competency and quality standards and professional best practices. Collaborate with families, relatives, and other professionals to manage risk with an emphasis on relationship-based practice, recognising and building on family strengths. Maintain the highest professional standards and solid understanding of relevant legislation, regulations, and practice methods.


What you will do:

- Apply your professional expertise to assess risk and social care needs of children and their families within statutory frameworks.
- Manage caseloads effectively, ensuring clarity of assessment, professional curiosity, and reliable information for solid analysis and action plans.
- Collaborate proactively with other agencies, organisations, parents, and carers to involve young service users and families in service development.
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation, capturing the child’s voice, and maintaining accurate case records using ICT.
- Monitor, review, and assess child plans for effectiveness, taking action to prevent drift and delay.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and council policies in all case management.
- Prepare high-quality written reports for care proceedings and present evidence in court professionally.
- Participate in duty rotas, responding to queries and issues as needed.
- Attend conferences, reviews, and court, presenting each case with professionalism and integrity.
- Promote equality, treating everyone with fairness and dignity, while recognising unconscious bias and practicing in an anti-oppressive manner.
