The salary for this permanent Senior Specialist Pharmacist job is £50,000 - £60,000 per annum.

In this pivotal role, you will oversee all facets of core pharmacy services, including:

  • Medicine Management: Provide comprehensive advice and evidence-based practice for both inpatients and outpatients.
  • Clinical Services: Deliver expert support in patient care, aseptic services, risk management, and clinical governance.
  • Ward-Based Responsibilities: Manage pharmacy needs on the ward with occasional cover for the dispensary as required.

Main Duties:

  • Lead and enhance specialist services for Paediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care units.
  • Oversee drug validation and configuration for the ICCA prescribing system.
  • Develop and manage drug validation and configuration for the Meditech Expanse prescribing system.
  • Offer expert pharmaceutical advice for PICU and NICU.
  • Engage in clinical audits and contribute to transformation projects.

Requirements of the Senior Specialist Pharmacist:

  • MPharm degree (or equivalent) with registration by the GPhC.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Clinical Pharmacy (Certificate/Diploma/Masters) or willingness to enrol.
  • Experience in Paediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care (PICU/NICU) specialties.
  • Background in specialist areas such as paediatrics, women’s health, critical care, cardiology, and enteral nutrition.
  • Proven experience working in a hospital environment.
