What you will do:
- Assist service users with getting up in the morning and going to bed, following personalised care plans.
- Change beds, clothes, and handle personal washing while adhering to infection control procedures.
- Provide and encourage personal care and hygiene, including support with bathing and grooming.
- Prepare light meals and drinks to attend to dietary needs.
- Support continence management through regular regimes and product maintenance.
- Monitor skin and pressure care, using pressure-relieving devices as necessary.
- Assist with prescribed medication administration after proper training.
- Help with applying surgical aids such as compression stockings or artificial limbs.
- Assist with changing and using oxygen and nebulisers as required.
- Perform light domestic tasks to ensure cleanliness and hygiene are maintained.
- Work flexibly within the schedule and be ready to adapt as service user needs change.
- Build trusting and respectful relationships with service users and their families.
- Encourage independence and personal motivation among service users.
- Maintain personal and service user hygiene and adhere to health and safety policies.
- Provide feedback to team leaders and participate in data gathering, as required.
- Attend team meetings and complete relevant NVQ training and courses.
- Adhere to confidentiality policies and data protection legislation.
