What you will do:
- Engage with adults using a non-judgemental approach, safeguarding their rights under legal frameworks including the Care Act 2014 and Mental Health Act 1983.
- Uphold human rights and mental capacity expertise to make complex decisions and enable positive risk-taking.
- Manage complex situations ensuring the person's wishes and beliefs are central to decision-making.
- Develop and support creative support planning to reconnect people with natural support networks.
- Assist in developing new resources and contribute to specialist projects and service planning groups.
- Use legislation effectively to safeguard adults at risk of abuse, acting as an investigating officer as needed.
- Provide evidence in court proceedings, ensuring people’s rights to judicial review and advocacy are upheld.
- Participate in continuous professional development, adhering to Social Work England standards.
- Promote equality and support council policies on anti-oppressive practices.
- Self-manage a challenging caseload, seeking support and applying best practice research.
- Collaborate with other agencies to ensure comprehensive support and uphold social work values.
- Guide ethical practices in partnership working and ensure decisions reflect legal and human rights principles.
- Represent your organisation in inter-professional work and promote effective information sharing.
