Pay Rate: £26.70 - £34.71 per hour (assignment class)

Contract Length: Initial contract is 3 months

Hours: Full-time, Monday – Friday, 9am - 5pm

Main Duties of the Pupil Place Planning Manager:

  • Health, Wellbeing, and Safety Compliance

    • Adhere to and promote the Council’s Health, Wellbeing, and Safety at Work policies.
    • Ensure these policies are effectively implemented within the designated areas of responsibility.
  • Safeguarding Vulnerable Populations

    • Support the Council’s priority of protecting vulnerable individuals, enabling them to live as independently as possible.
    • Actively promote and engage in the Council’s responsibility to safeguard the welfare of children, young people, and adults, ensuring their safety from harm.
  • Promotion of Employment Policies

    • Advocate for the Council’s employment policies, emphasizing diversity, equality of access, and fair treatment in employment, service delivery, and community involvement.
    • Foster a working culture within these services that aligns with the Council’s corporate vision.
  • Alignment with Council Strategy

    • Ensure services provided align with the Council’s strategy, vision, aims, objectives, priorities, and continuous improvement programme.
    • Comply with Standing Orders, Financial Regulations, the Code of Conduct, and other Council Policies and Procedures.
  • Administration of School Organisation

    • Oversee the effective administration of school organisation and early years processes on behalf of the Local Authority.
  • Lead School Expansion Consultations

    • Manage and lead consultations on Walsall’s school expansion schemes for primary, secondary, and special schools on behalf of Walsall Council.
  • Information and Guidance

    • Ensure that accurate, accessible, and well-communicated information, guidance, and support are provided to schools, staff, and governors in accordance with current legislation.

 Requirements of the Pupil Place Planning Manager:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role.
  • Proof of eligibility to work and reside in the UK.
  • Current DBS check and references covering the past 3 years.
  • Possess a clean UK driving license.
  • Ability to commute to and from work independently.
