Main responsibilities:
- Leadership and Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the nursery, providing strong leadership and direction to the team.
- Staff Development: Recruit, train, and mentor nursery staff, fostering a positive and supportive working environment.
- Curriculum Oversight: Ensure the effective implementation of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, promoting a rich and varied learning experience.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain compliance with all relevant legislation, including OFSTED standards, health and safety regulations, and safeguarding policies.
- Parental Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with parents and carers, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Financial Management: Oversee the nursery's budget, manage resources efficiently, and ensure the financial sustainability of the nursery.
- Quality Improvement: Continuously monitor and evaluate the quality of the nursery provision, implementing improvements where necessary
Requirements of the Nursery Manager:
- Minimum Level 3 Childcare Qualification: NVQ, CACHE, or equivalent (Level 5 or above preferred).
- Experience: Proven experience in a managerial role within a nursery or early years setting.
- Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of the EYFS framework and OFSTED requirements.
- Skills: Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
- First Aid: Paediatric First Aid certification is essential.
- Safeguarding: Thorough knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures
