Job Title: Family Learning Tutor
Location: Holbeach
Contract: 3 months
Hours: 16 hours per week
Pay Rate: £21.00 per hour (PAYE) / £26.03 per hour (umbrella)
About the Role
We are looking for passionate and committed Family Learning Tutors to facilitate various courses and workshops designed to enhance outcomes for families. These sessions target adults aged 19+ with English and maths skills below Level 2, providing opportunities for them to acquire new skills and support their children’s education in an engaging and supportive setting. This position involves delivering short workshops or courses, typically lasting two hours, with additional paid time allocated for preparation and planning.
Key Responsibilities

Design, plan, and deliver accredited courses using structured schemes of work and session plans, incorporating diverse methods and approaches to promote learning. This includes providing learners with tools such as a Learning Diary (LD), individual learning plan (ILP), or personal learner record (PLR), alongside detailed session plans for each class.

Collaborate with the assigned project officer to supply written materials for marketing and publicity purposes. Offer guidance and support to learners at the start and conclusion of courses.

Participate in induction sessions and attend relevant meetings as required.

Accurately complete and submit all necessary administrative documents, including enrolment forms, attendance registers, achievement data, course evaluations, and other required statistical information. Some of this documentation may be managed online.

Ensure that all learners receive a comprehensive course induction.

Conduct and document initial and ongoing assessments to identify learning needs, track progress, and recognise achievements.

Confirm with learners that the course content and level are suitable for their individual requirements.

Develop and adapt learning plans based on accreditation criteria and assessments, tailoring individual learning outcomes and course content as needed.
Essential Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will possess the following:

A university degree with a minimum classification of 2:2.

At least one year of post-graduate teaching or tutoring experience within the UK.

Proof of eligibility to work and reside in the UK, a current DBS certificate, and two professional references.

A valid UK driving licence and the ability to commute independently to and from work locations.
