Role: Counselling Lecturer

About the Role
We are looking for a passionate Counselling Lecturer to deliver high-quality Level 1-4 counselling courses. This position plays a vital role in supporting adult learners in their academic and professional growth while contributing to wider city initiatives, including enhancing residents’ English, Maths, and ICT skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with fellow tutors to create and deliver engaging programmes that meet Ofsted’s good or outstanding teaching, learning, and assessment standards.
- Assess learners’ prior knowledge and experience, offering tailored guidance on learning pathways and referring them to other services when necessary.
- Inspire and motivate learners, fostering both their employability and functional skills alongside their core counselling education.
- Maintain accurate and confidential administrative records while contributing to data collection to evaluate service impact.
- Uphold quality assurance processes to ensure high service standards are met and continuously improved.
- Show a commitment to ongoing professional development and service enhancement.
- Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion by leading by example, ensuring fair access to opportunities for all.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- A teaching qualification and a minimum Level 4 qualification in Counselling. Applications are welcomed from newly qualified, recently qualified, and experienced teachers.
- Experience as a counselling supervisor to support occupational competence.
- An assessor/IQA qualification or a willingness to obtain one.
- Familiarity with e-learning platforms such as Equal and Google Classroom, or an openness to learning new systems.
