Seven Social Care is looking for a competent Principal team leader to join our team in west siussex.

As an Principal team leader, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of your team for the bus, coach, minibus, taxi companies and specialist transport suppliers. You’ll work with colleagues across the Council and with other local Councils as the lead on the client transport. You will manage the client transport activities with responsibility for a large spend in a challenging financial environment, and will work closely with the policy and budget leads in other directorates as well as finance officers

Responsibilities:

- Lead teams of client transport senior planners, passenger transport planners, specialist planners and trainee planners to deliver very varied services to meet the needs of children, young people, and vulnerable adults, sometimes with very specific special needs

- Be the lead officer providing relevant information, including financial reporting and other specialist information under the direction of the Transport Coordination Manager.

- Provide detailed business, technical knowledge and skills relating to client transport (individual and shared) relating to service planning and delivery. Act as lead Subject Matter Expert on client transport related matters. Act as lead officer on elements of Transport and Education law in relation to the delivery of client transport.

- Contribute to the strategy and planning of services both internally and in partnership through key suppliers acting as client for any internal or external consultants engaged to deliver all requirements for client transport in the required timescales.

- Lead officer managing the delivery of planning for all client passenger transport providing suitable reporting on performance and financial indicators in accordance with internal Service Level Agreements.

- Accountable for £25m client transport annual spend and associated accounting practices, reporting, reviewing and recording.

Requirements:

- Proven team leader experience.

- Educated to degree level in a passenger transport related discipline, or equivalent level of experience demonstrating comprehensive application of the above levels of knowledge in a relevant setting.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Strong organizational and time-management skills.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- High level of attention to detail.

- Knowledge of basic bookkeeping principles is an advantage.
