The salary for this permanent Occupational Therapist job is £40,929 per annum.

Main Duties:

  • Assist individuals in short-term placements by offering comprehensive rehabilitation programs to facilitate their return home.
  • Enhance your professional capabilities by undertaking frontline holistic occupational therapy practice within a social care setting.
  • Work with a diverse range of clients, including the elderly, those with learning disabilities, physical or sensory impairments, or mental health issues, using a strength-based approach.
  • Perform various assessments, such as moving and handling risk assessments, to support and empower clients to live meaningful lives in the community.
  • Work closely with team members and external organizations to provide integrated services for vulnerable adults and their carers.
  • Conduct home visits and work in various settings, including residential care and nursing homes, to deliver community-based support.

Requirements of the Occupational Therapist:

  • Professional qualification in Occupational Therapy with current registration from the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Proven experience in social care, health, or community-based multi-disciplinary settings.
  • Proficiency in conducting person-centred and proportionate occupational therapy assessments.
  • Familiarity with moving and handling equipment, such as hoists and stand aids.
  • Understanding of various medical conditions and their impact on individuals, carers, and families.
  • Strong knowledge of current legislation, including the Care Act and the Mental Capacity Act, and their application in social care practice.
