Sanctuary Personnel is excited to offer an excellent opportunity for an experienced Night Duty Clinical Nurse Manager to join our client's team. This role involves leading a dedicated team of Registered Nurses and Healthcare Assistants within a committed Multidisciplinary Team, making a significant impact in psychiatric nurse management.

About the Role:

This position is with a facility that provides a broad range of neuropsychiatric services to adults with severe and enduring mental health needs, including Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and Huntington’s Diseases, early onset dementias, schizophrenia, and mood disorders. It is the only centre in Ireland offering highly specialised care for individuals with Huntington’s disease, along with specialist palliative care services.

The facility prides itself on fostering a therapeutic environment through recovery-oriented clinical practices and evidence-based therapeutic interventions, aiming to support patients in achieving their highest level of functioning and quality of life. Care is delivered by a comprehensive Multidisciplinary Team, including professionals in Psychiatry, Psychology, Nursing, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language, Dietetics, Physiotherapy, and General Practice.

This 123-bed in-patient mental health service is an approved centre registered with the Mental Health Commission, with a strong ethos of honouring the dignity of every individual.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategic and operational development, ensuring compliance with national and regulatory standards and best practices.
  • Maintain the highest standards of nursing service provision and safety.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory programmes, including Health & Safety and Risk Management standards.
  • Lead and implement operational change programmes within the nursing service.
  • Collaborate with residents, families, carers, and staff in goal setting and care planning.
  • Participate in and cooperate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Ensure all practices, procedures, and policies align with the organisation's service and strategic plans.

Requirements:

  • Registered Psychiatric Nurse (with An Bord Altranais/NMBI) or eligibility to register.
  • Minimum of five years post-qualification experience, including at least two years as a Clinical Nurse Manager 1.
  • Experience in a healthcare/hospital setting, particularly in acute mental health care.
  • Desirable: Clinical experience in palliative care.
  • High standard of clinical, managerial, and administrative competencies.
  • Experience in managing staff, budgets, and workforce planning.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Mental Health Commission requirements, leadership, and governance.
  • Clinical experience working within a multidisciplinary team and understanding of Clinical Governance.
  • Ability to lead, teach, manage, and participate in the practice education of students and registered nurses.
  • Knowledge and experience of health, safety, and statutory regulations affecting a healthcare organisation.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional/personal development.
