Sanctuary Personnel is currently seeking an experienced Band 7 Senior Mental Health Practitioner/CAMHS Practitioner to take on a new locum opportunity based in Swindon. 

Location: Swindon. Hybrid working could be considered, with ideally, a minimum of 4 days in the office able to offer face to face working with patients and their families/carers. 

Contract Type: Locum, 3-month contract

Pay Rate: £31 per hour (assignment rate)

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, would consider less hours and or an appropriate experienced RMN/RNLD/Occupational Therapist and Social Worker with Mental Health experience (ideally Community CAMHS experience) with more availability to work at weekends/bank holidays delivering mental health assessments and interventions in our mental health liaison service. Monday - Friday and weekend working options available. Flexible working across 7 days. 09:00 am - 18:00 pm (flexible hours could be considered) weekdays and weekends on a rota, 10:00 am -18:00 pm. 

Duties:

  • Mental health liaison at the acute general hospital for children and young people under 18 years of age, including follow up review after being discharged from the acute general hospital. Previous experience of providing mental health assessments at duty level and liaison level including assessment of complex risk presentations
  • Eating Disorders clinic- offering assessments and evidence based interventions to children and young people under the age of 18 referred to the team
  • Work as part of multi-disciplinary team as well as working autonomously
  •  Specialist mental health assessments and also delivering evidence based interventions (such as CBT/CBT informed interventions for anxiety, depression/low mood, OCD for children and young people; DBT/DBT informed approaches including coping skills for children and young people with emotional dysregulation) OCD for children and young people referred to Swindon CAMHS

Requirements of the Senior Mental Health Practitioner/CAMHS Practitioner:

  • Must be able to work in person delivering face to face clinical work in Swindon and nearby area
  • RMN, RNLD, OT or Social Worker with mental health experience, ideally CAMHS experience who have worked previously in Band 6 equivalent roles in mental health settings and meet requirements of Agenda for Change for NHS Band 7 posts
  • Relevant current registration to practice with professional body
  • Previous extensive experience in mental health/equivalent fields to now be able to work autonomously and be key worker as required for Children and Young people referred to CAMH Service for complex mental health presentations and needs
  • Previous experience of working with Children and Adults with eating disorders, providing NICE recommended assessments and interventions for Eating Disorders
  • Ability to assess complex risk presentations and manage high risk cases
