The salary for this permanent Midwife job is £56,000 per annum.

Duties:

  • Take responsibility as a prime care provider in either the hospital or community setting
  • Work as a midwife providing the full range of care needs to develop, implement and evaluate care throughout the antenatal , intrapartum and postnatal period for women and their families
  • Interacts with medical staff and other members of the multi-disciplinary team when deviations from the norm occur to promote a healthy outcome for mother and infant
  • Provide effective leadership and act as a good role model
  • Supervise and teach qualified and unqualified staff acting as a mentor
  • Work autonomously within guidelines and spheres of professional practice

 

Requirements of the Midwife:

  • All midwife practitioners will be Registered Midwives, accountable for their own midwifery practice and will be able to fulfil the following role through the ability to make decisions with current protocols and principles of care in compliance with the NMC’s Midwives Rules and code of Midwifery Practice
  • Be confident in providing midwife led care and should have post qualifying experience
  • Relevant qualification
  • Previous experience working as a Midwife
