The salary for this permanent Clinical Psychologist job is £63,663 - £76,291 per annum.

Duties:

  • Work within the Psychological Therapies Team in Adult Mental Health
  • Hold a personal caseload providing complex psychological assessment, treatment and consultation work engaging on average a minimum of 4 clients per day
  • Be responsible for the clinical supervision of allocated staff within and outside of the Psychological Therapies Team
  • Work within the policies and procedures, as may be amended from time to time
  • Be managerially accountable to the Manager – Psychological Therapies Team, whilst retaining legal and professional accountability for their own practice

Requirements of the Clinical Psychologist:

  • Be a UK registered Clinical Psychologist and will work within the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and British Psychological Society (BPS) codes of conduct ensuring that adequate arrangements are in place for clinical supervision and continuing professional development in order to maintain registration
  • Be able to work with individuals, couples and groups of service users presenting with long term conditions, pain, severe and enduring mental health difficulties
  • Demonstrate awareness of research and its application to clinical practice
  • Communicate in a highly skilled and sensitive manner, information concerning the assessment, formulation and treatment plans of service users.
  • Effectively communicate professional opinion, verbally and in writing, to service users, other professionals, and statutory and voluntary agencies
  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology with ability to demonstrate breadth of experience working with severe and enduring mental illness
  • Ability to demonstrate extensive experience of working with at least two therapeutic approaches e.g. ACT, Systemic/Family, CBT, Psychodynamic, CAT etc
  • Be able to demonstrate training and experience in delivering two NICE recommended psychotherapeutic interventions for pain management, long term conditions and personality disorders e.g. ACT, CBT, DBT, Systemic/Family Therapy, Schema
  • Confident and competent in working as part of the MDT managing presentation and risk in secondary care service users with long term conditions, pain, severe and enduring mental illness
