The salary for this permanent Consultant Clinical Psychologist job is £56,33 - £71,979 per annum.

Main Duties:

  • Offer strategic professional and clinical leadership to the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust via the Clinical Executive.
  • Lead professional and clinical efforts within the service and throughout the region, ensuring a systematic response to service needs, interpreting professional policies, and maintaining the highest quality and best practices, with a strong focus on research and development. Play a key role in policy development and implementation for the entire service.
  • Deliver high-level clinical services, providing support and advice on neuropsychological clinical practice to colleagues, and offering expert clinical consultation and guidance to clinical neuropsychologists, clinical psychologists, and other clinicians within BIRT.
  • Provide clinical leadership and direction for the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust service across the relevant region, including leading the multidisciplinary team and support worker staff within the service and other related BIRT services in the area.

Requirements of the Consultant Clinical Psychologist:

  • Degree in Psychology recognised by the BPS for Graduate Basis Registration (GBR) or equivalent.
  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology accredited by the BPS.
  • Registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the HCPC.
  • Ability to understand and communicate highly complex and sensitive information both verbally and in writing, tailored to various settings and audiences, including highly emotive situations and those with significant communication impairments.
  • Proficiency in analysing and managing complex multi-factorial information from diverse clinical and organisational sources, integrating and formulating it from various psychological perspectives, and making expert professional judgements about appropriate actions within a public service context.
  • Strong skills in managing specialist professional staff, overseeing day-to-day clinical services, and handling financial resources.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of legislation and its impact on clinical practice and professional management concerning the service user group, including but not limited to the Mental Health Act and relevant legislation.
  • Experience working as a consultant or extensive experience as a Principal Clinical Psychologist in a relevant setting.
