The salary for this permanent Head of Therapy Services job is up tp £50,000 per annum.

Main Duties:

  • Lead, Motivate, and Manage: Oversee and inspire the therapy team to ensure high levels of performance and cohesion.
  • Caseload Management: Take responsibility for the unit’s complex caseload (relevant to your role), delivering highly specialist treatment programmes tailored to individual service user needs and desired outcomes. Conduct assessments to develop appropriate therapy plans.
  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure that all practices comply with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) guidelines and adhere to relevant professional standards and ethics, including Brainkind Standards of Care.
  • Evidence-Based Practice: Implement evidence-based practices to ensure effective service provision and achieve positive outcomes for service users.
  • Resource Management: Ensure the appropriate provision, maintenance, and effective use of equipment within the available resources.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Share your knowledge and expertise with colleagues through both formal and informal teaching sessions, benefiting the therapy team and the wider centre.
  • Continuous Development: Commit to the continuous development of team knowledge, clinical skills, and rehabilitation effectiveness.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with other areas of the organisation, including fundraising, marketing, and policy/campaign teams, by providing information and analysis to support the organisation's strategic objectives.
  • Service Management: Facilitate the safe and efficient operation of the service, maintain a safe working environment, protect service user confidentiality, and occasionally undertake additional reasonable tasks as needed.

Requirements of the Head of Therapy Services:

  • BSc Degree: A qualification at degree level in Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy.
  • Management Qualification: A management degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Professional Registration: Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Specialised Post-Registration Training: Additional training in a relevant speciality following initial registration.
  • Continued Professional Development: Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Professional Body Membership: Current registration with the appropriate professional body.
  • Specialist Interest Group: Membership in a Professional Specialist Interest Group, or a willingness to join.
  • Evidence-Based Practice: Demonstrable experience in applying evidence-based practice and outcome measures.
  • Specialist Clinical Knowledge: Highly specialised knowledge and expertise in therapy assessments and interventions, with advanced clinical reasoning skills.
  • Team Management Experience: Experience in managing a team, including setting objectives, conducting appraisals, handling recruitment, and managing disciplinary matters.
