Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Qualified Social Worker within the Adult Integrated Neighbourhood Team to work full time based in Lambeth.
The salary for this permanent Social Worker job is up to £42,459 per annum.
Main duties:
- To work in a strength-based way with adults and their families and carers, including those who are terminally ill. This includes working with multi-disciplinary colleagues, providing advice and information, working with community supports and liaison with other agencies, seeking the help of other professionals as necessary.
- To have person centred conversations with people and carers in a timely way evaluating the level of risk and an evidence-based analysis of need whilst promoting independence in accordance with agreed criteria and divisional policies.
- To assess for and provide equipment and minor adaptations to promote independence, and to monitor these as necessary, seeking advice where appropriate.
- Where services are required, to make recommendations for innovative, cost effective and quality care packages to promote independence, to obtain authorisation from the relevant budget holder and arrange the provision of services.
- To ensure, along with other colleagues in other parts of the department, that people and their carers are involved in all decisions and advocates are recommended, where appropriate.
- To contribute to the learning environment by assessing and supervising students, being a mentor/buddy for apprentices and/or newly qualified social workers on the Assessed and Supported Year of Employment.
- To assist in the planning of services in consultation with other professionals, to enable people to remain as independent as possible.
- To liaise with staff throughout social services as well as other departments of the local authority and to liaise with statutory, voluntary, and independent organisations to ensure that working relationships are maintained, developed and strengthened.
- To seek and accept managerial and professional supervision on a regular basis form designated senior staff within the department and to participate in the appraisal process.
- To ensure within the boundaries of confidentially and good professional practice there is the fullest co-operation with other agencies, and that in all contact with people and their carers they are treated with respect.
- To contribute to the development of departmental policy and practice and to departmental research into the agency functioning and current need if required.
- To undertake any other duties that may be required commensurate with the general level of responsibility of the post.
Requirements of this Social Worker role:
- A professional Social Work qualification or equivalent.
- Understanding of relevant legislation.
- Registered or eligible for registration.
