Pay Rate: £18.53 (PAYE) or £22.97 (Umbrella) per hour
Hours: Locum contract. 16 hours per week.
Within Family learning, they operate both joint family learning sessions and adult only. The joint services are delivered in conjunction with local schools, with tutors being responsible for the adult learner and a school link teacher leading the parent and child session. Adult only sessions tend to focus on English skills for ESOL learners and Functional Skills maths and English. The service offer a variety of courses and workshops, ranging from short engagement workshops and/or , courses of 2-hours duration. Please note, preparation, planning and set up time is then paid in addition.
The role:We would be interested in talking to potential tutors who are interested in teaching the joint sessions or adult only. The joint sessions include workshops/courses in the following subjects:
Keeping up with the Children English and maths, Learning through Play, Play and Language, Family Fun with Reading, Fun with Numbers, Play with Words, and Healthy Living, Grow your Own, Family Fun Outdoors, Family English, Family maths. The adult only provision includes the provision of Functional Skills English/Maths or portfolio based accredited Literacy.
Key Responsibilities:
- To plan, prepare and deliver accredited courses using schemes of work, session plans and a variety of methods and approaches to enable and support learning including providing learners with an Learning Diary (LD), individual learning plan (ILP) or personal learner record (PLR) and supporting each session with a well prepared session plan.
- Work with the allocated project officer to provide written information for all publicity / marketing. Provide information and advice to learners at the beginning and end of course. To attend induction and all other meetings where required as appropriate.
- To fully complete, and submit to deadlines, accurate administrative paperwork related to the organisation of teaching including enrolment forms, registers, completion and achievement data, course folders, course evaluations, and other course and statistical information as required. Some of which may be online.
- To ensure all learners receive a proper induction to their course.
- To carry out and record initial and ongoing assessment in order to identify learning and support needs, progress and achievement.
- To check with all learners that the course contents and level meets individual needs.
- To prepare and plan learning based on accreditation offered as well as assessment, negotiating individual learning outcomes and content as appropriate.
Applicant Requirements:
- University Degree at grade 2:2 or above.
- 1+ year of post-graduate experience as a Teacher/Tutor in the UK.
- Proof of ability to work and live in the UK. Current DBS and 2 x references.
- Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
