About the Role:
Our client is a progressive healthcare provider looking for a Theatre Practitioner or ODP proficient in scrub, anaesthetic, and recovery practices. The role will involve working across a variety of specialities including General Surgery, Orthopaedics (elective and trauma), Gynaecology & Obstetrics, Urology, ENT & Max Fax, Vascular, Ophthalmic, and Dental procedures. They also provide round-the-clock emergency coverage for the island.
With eight surgical theatres, including two dedicated to day surgery, a minor operations unit, and a well-equipped facility, you’ll be part of a collaborative team that provides exceptional care. The role also involves participation in trauma and arrest teams, working closely with anaesthetists in the Accident and Emergency department.
You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care, ensuring a culture of learning and professional development. Our client values inclusivity and encourages applicants from diverse backgrounds, promoting a supportive and merit-based work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver patient care in scrub, anaesthetic, and recovery areas across a range of surgical specialties.
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, maintaining high-quality patient care standards.
- Participate in trauma and arrest teams and assist in the Accident and Emergency department.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff and participate in their professional development.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient documentation in line with regulatory guidelines.
- Contribute to the development of care plans, promoting health and well-being for patients.
- Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and contribute to clinical audits.
- Participate in the strategic planning and cost-effective practices within the clinical area.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- 1st Level Registered Nurse (Diploma/1st Degree) or Operating Department Practitioner qualification.
- Comprehensive understanding of NMC/HCPC guidelines and professional conduct.
- Experience in scrub, anaesthesia, and recovery practices across various surgical disciplines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
