Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Supervising Social Worker within the Fostering Team to work full time based in Devon, Torbay, South Hams, Teignbridge & Somerset.

The salary for this permanent Advanced Practitioner job is up to £35,600per annum.

Main duties:

  • Assess and prepare prospective foster carers to fully understand the processes involved.
  • Identify when prospective foster carers are not suitable for the agency.
  • Support those applicants with drawing from the process or not suitable for the agency.
  • Check all related documentation on behalf of TFF.
  • Completing personal references, ex partners checks and other references that may be required.
  • Attend fostering panel to present report and answer any questions whilst supporting applicants to attend panel.
  • Preparing high quality form F reports for panel which are well evidenced and offer sound social worker analysis.
  • Be available for pre-planned QA sessions with TFF Team Managers.
  • Undertake Health & Safety checks and pet assessments.
  • Support applicants to complete personal profiles and “All about our family” books.
  • Agree and work within timelines of the agency and meet those deadlines.
  • Work in an open and honest manner that offers feedback to prospective foster carers regarding their progress to their assessments, including any difficulties.
  • Adhering to all TFF policies and standards of confidentiality.
  • Working transparently alongside other TFF staff such as Business Support Officers.
  • Supervising and supporting approved foster carers.
  • Progressing well matched placements with foster carers with vacancies.
  • Attending and contributing to all meetings pertaining to all children placed.
  • Writing annual reviews.
  • Progressing all allegations and complaints made about the carers in a timely manner.
  • Being part of an “on call” day and “out of hours” duty rota system.
  • Proficient in using an electronic data base system.
  • Responding promptly to any incidents or accidents involving children in care.
  • Engaging with TFF Marketing and Recruitment Officers as necessary.


Requirements of the Advanced Practitioner:

  • CQSW, DipSW, BA Social Work of equivalent professional qualification.
  • Management qualification at least at Level 4.
  • At least 1 years’ experience of supervising professional staff.
  • Knowledge of relevant childcare legislation.
  • Ability to travel independently to all required areas by the job’s responsibilities.
