Sanctuary Personnel is currently seeking an experienced Band 6 Specialist Nurse Practitioner to take on a new locum opportunity based in location, within the Adolescent Hope Unit.
Location: Richmond upon Thames
Contract Type: Locum, ongoing block booking.

Pay Rate: £29 per hour (assignment rate)
Main Duties:
- Conduct thorough specialist assessments, using your clinical judgement to navigate complex situations and make well-informed, autonomous decisions.
- Apply a broad range of clinical skills to meet the diverse needs of patients across various settings, ensuring each individual receives personalised care.
- Collaborate with colleagues to shape the philosophy, care framework, and strategic objectives of the service, leading specific initiatives to advance our mission.
- Drive the development of clinical expertise and uphold high standards of nursing practice in line with the Nursing and Midwifery Code of Conduct (2002).
- Deliver evidence-based care, staying informed on the latest best practices and research to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Actively participate in clinical supervision and oversee the development of nursing staff, contributing to a culture of learning and growth.
- Serve as a role model of clinical excellence, demonstrating best practices and setting a high standard for nursing care.
- Navigate the legal and ethical dimensions of mental health care with confidence, ensuring compassionate and responsible treatment for every individual.
- Provide clear, up-to-date information to clients and carers about available services, how to express feedback, and what they can expect from our service.
- Offer specialist knowledge and expert advice to fellow healthcare professionals, guiding interventions and support for patients, families, and carers.
- Communicate with clarity and empathy, even in challenging situations, using your interpersonal skills to foster understanding and trust.
- Lead weekly multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, coordinating referrals, treatment options, and action plans to ensure seamless, patient-centred care.
Requirements of the Specialist Nurse Practitioner:
- Degree or equivalent in Mental Health Nursing
- Proven experience as a Registered Mental Health Nurse
- Valid NMC Registration
- Community experience
- Experience of working in old age psychiatry
- Experience of assessing and managing crisis with those with a dementing illness
