Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Social Worker within the Intermediate Care Team to work full time based in Bury, Greater Manchester.

Location: Bury, Greater Manchester

Working Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week

Contract: Permanent

Salary: £39,186  - £41,418 per annum

Main Duties as a Social Worker:

You will play a critical role in delivering comprehensive support and assessments to vulnerable adults. Your work will involve a variety of key responsibilities aimed at enhancing the well-being and safety of those in need. Below are the core aspects of the role:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strengths-Based Assessments: Conduct detailed, strengths-based assessments that identify the individual’s needs, preferences, and abilities. Utilize excellent written and verbal communication skills to document findings and ensure that assessments are both thorough and clear.
  • Legislative Compliance: Apply your expertise in the Care Act 2014 and other relevant statutory frameworks to guide your practice. Ensure that all actions and decisions align with legal requirements and uphold the rights of service users.
  • Professional Development: Commit to continuous professional growth by engaging in training, workshops, and other development opportunities. Stay updated with the latest practices, legislation, and research to enhance your expertise and effectiveness.
  • Team Support: Contribute to the development and improvement of the team by sharing knowledge, offering guidance, and supporting colleagues. Collaborate with team members to foster a supportive and effective work environment.
  • Case Management: Manage a caseload effectively, balancing the needs of individuals with the resources available. Develop and implement care plans that address identified needs while working to achieve the best outcomes for service users.
  • Multi-Agency Collaboration: Work closely with other professionals, agencies, and organisations to ensure a coordinated approach to care. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration to meet the holistic needs of individuals.
  • Advocacy and Support: Advocate for the rights and needs of service users, ensuring they receive the appropriate services and support. Provide guidance and assistance to individuals and their families to navigate the social care system.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed records of assessments, care plans, and interventions. Prepare and submit reports as required, ensuring all documentation meets the required standards and supports effective service delivery.

Key Requirements for this role:

  • Must possess a recognised social work qualification
  • Registered with Social Work England
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting assessments with a robust understanding of safeguarding practices.
  • Extensive knowledge of legal frameworks applicable to Adult Social Work.
  • Experience in supporting and mentoring ASYE social workers or students is advantageous but not essential, as we provide support and training for this role.
