Main Duties:

  • Undertake assessment and case management of children and families in accordance with statutory requirements and service policies and procedures.
  • Formulate, negotiate and deliver effective measures of intervention, utilising services provided by the service and by other agencies and individuals.
  • Agree, deliver and co-ordinate care planning of care with individual children and families and negotiate delivery within available resources.
  • Monitor and review care plans in conjunction with children and families and service providers, both as changing needs determine and in line with statutory requirements.
  • Work directly with children and families with the aim of empowering them to utilise their strengths, resources and ability to achieve an independent and satisfying life and to fulfil their potential.
  • Develop multi-agency working in accordance with Getting it Right for Every Child; in particular how services for our most vulnerable children can be developed and better integrated
  • Prepare reports for the Court, the Reporter to the Children’s Hearing and other agencies as
  • required.
  • Attend Children’s Hearings and Court Hearings as required.
  • Work in the interests of children on a co-ordinated, multi-professional and multi-agency basis
  • Support and work as far as possible in partnership with parents.
  • Record all work undertaken in accordance with service procedures and maintain accurate and up-to-date records.

Requirements of the Social Worker:

  • Degree or equivalent in social work
  • Current Social Work England registration
  • Significant frontline experience in Children’s Services
