Location: Bury, Greater Manchester

Working Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week

Contract: Permanent

Salary: £39,186  - £41,418 per annum

Main Duties as a Social Worker:

In this dynamic role, you'll encounter diverse and complex cases daily, working within the Allegations and Risk Team alongside two Advanced Practitioners and a Manager. You will manage a manageable caseload and collaborate frequently with multi-agency partners. This role focuses on supporting adults with multiple, highly complex needs, including Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), Autistic Spectrum Disorders, forensic histories, complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), substance misuse, and those transitioning from long-term care through the Transforming Care Agenda. You will also assist those whose needs do not fit within existing Learning Disability and Community Mental Health services criteria.

  • Direct Support: Under the guidance of the Allegations and Risk Manager, work directly with individuals, their families, and caregivers. Provide support to both the service users and their networks.
  • Assessment & Compliance: Conduct thorough assessments in accordance with the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) and other relevant legislative frameworks. Ensure compliance with all legal and policy requirements.
  • Innovative Approaches: Promote and model innovative approaches to managing complex, high-risk needs. Address the impact on individuals, their families, and those navigating the legislative and funding frameworks.
  • Team Support: Offer support and guidance to wider social work teams dealing with complex cases. Participate in working within Integrated Neighbourhood Teams (INT) and other departmental settings to support the MARM (Multi-Agency Risk Management) protocol.
  • Meetings & Risk Management: Attend and contribute to MAPPA (Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements) meetings and other risk management meetings as required.

Key Requirements for this role:

  • Must possess a recognised social work qualification
  • Registered with Social Work England
  • Knowledge of issues affecting adults, including health, mental health, aging processes, and carers' concerns.
  • Have a solid understanding of health and social care legislation, guidance, and policy.
