Interim Service Manager – Neighbourhood (Adult Social Care)

Description

  • Leadership: Connect the Assistant Director’s strategic goals with the day-to-day operations of front-line managers, ensuring the Council’s vision is put into practice based on feedback from customers, carers, and staff.
  • Operational Oversight: Manage either assessment and support functions (e.g., social work or occupational therapy) or provider functions (e.g., direct care at home or in the community).
  • Access to Support: Ensure individuals can easily find the support and information they need and know who to contact for help.
  • Risk Management: Help individuals plan for the future and manage risks according to their preferences.
  • Enablement: Encourage a way of working that helps people rely less on intensive services and become more independent.
  • Self-Managed Support: Support individuals in managing their own care, giving them control over their support arrangements.

Selection criteria questions:

  • Social Work Degree: CQSW, CSS, DIPSW, or equivalent qualification.
  • Management Qualification: Level 5 qualification in management (e.g., NVQ Level 4) or substantial relevant experience.
  • Social Work England Registration: Required if qualified in social work.
