Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Senior Social Worker/Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) within The Hub Service to work Full Time based in Bromley.


The salary for this Senior Social Worker/AMHP job is up to £56,327 per annum.

Main duties:

  • To ensure the provision of assessment and support to Adults and their Carers in line with the Care Act 2014, Wellbeing principles, LB Bromley procedures and other relevant legislation.
  • To provide consultation on statutory Care Act 2014 duties within the team.
  • To monitor, review and evaluate care plans in order to ensure that they are meeting the needs of Adults and Carers, in line with Personal Budgets and Direct Payments.
  • Ensure and promote that Adults and Carers are able to represent their views and by providing advocacy, communicators or translators when appropriate.
  • To hold a small caseload concentrating on those with complex care needs.
  • To protect adults at risk by robust assessments and the use if safeguarding procedures with an emphasis on making safeguarding personal.
  • Undertake the safeguarding adult manager role and role of enquiry officer as defined in the Pan London Safeguarding Procedures.
  • To protect the needs of children in line with safeguarding procedures.
  • to provide a professional lead in the team on AMHP practice issues, i.e. Involvement in training and development and dissemination of up to date Mental Health Act information.
  • To undertake responsibility for supporting team initiatives and activities as defined by Line Managers.
  • To act as Practice Educator/Assessor for Social Work Students and Approved Mental Health Professional trainees – if not already a qualified practice educator the post holder must be willing to undertake this.
  • To provide an adult social care perspective when assisting in the planning and development of community Mental Health Services, promoting participation from adults who use the service.
  • To identify and report unmet need and service shortfalls to Line Manager.
  • To support the Team Manager and ensure that the adult social care agenda is included in assessment and considered in response to new referrals and enquiries.
  • To co-ordinate, participate and, where appropriate, chair planning meetings, reviews and case conferences.
  • Undertake any other duties commensurate with the level of the post, as required to ensure the efficient and effective running of the organisation.

Requirements of this Senior Social Worker/AMHP job:

  • A social Work Qualification or equivalent.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Registered or eligible for registration.
