Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Senior Social Worker within the Prevention Team to work Full Time for based in Southend.
The salary for this permanent Senior Social Worker job is up to £50,788 per annum.
Main duties:
- Southend on Sea Borough Council has a zero-tolerance policy towards abuse. As an employee, you will be committed to social justice and report and respond to any and all cases of suspected abuse in line with the SET (Southend, Essex & Thurrock) Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults Guidelines.
- To manage a caseload of complex and difficult cases (including Safeguarding referrals), involving assessment, planning and implementation and evaluation of appropriate action to ensure resources are utilised effectively to safeguard and promote the welfare of service users.
- To communicate a clear sense of purpose and direction to the Locality Team in order to motivate and develop staff and providing a role model for Best Practice. Leading by example that the Social Work Team vision is reflected in work practices across Southend.
- My promote a performance culture ensuring that all team members have adequate opportunity to learn and continually develop practice ensuring improvement in performance, evidenced through national & local performance indicators.
- To deputise for the Service Manager in their absence.
- To support Service Users and their families in having choice and control over the services they use, including supporting people to self-assess and use personal budgets.
- To work as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team in undertaking Self Directed Support activities using a Person-Centred Approach.
- To maintain accurate and timely records of work undertaken and ensure completion of continuing health care checklists and to contribute to multi-disciplinary assessment of the illegibility for NHS Continuing Health Care.
- Ensure compliance with Safeguarding Vulnerable Adult’s Guidelines and other high-risk work undertaken by others.
- Maintain awareness of changes in legislation and related policies and practices and ensure the team are informed of these changes to enable consistent and timely implementation.
- Ensure the provision of individual, cost-effective packages of care and support are within allocated budgets and defined locality/team.
- Ensure that the Service Manager is kept fully informed, or problems arising from workload and seek advice on these as necessary.
Requirements of this Senior Social Worker role:
- A professional Social Work qualification or equivalent.
- Understanding of relevant legislation.
- Registered or eligible for registration.
- Have a good working knowledge of the relevant legislation.
