What you will do:
- Manage a diverse and challenging caseload, with cases involving child protection, care and support, deprivation of liberty, court actions, and school attendance.
- Conduct thorough assessments, design effective care and support plans, and determine external support provisions within budget.
- Collaborate with various services to optimise resource allocation and promote a holistic approach to care.
- Apply advanced social work techniques to address the needs of children, families, and carers, working independently and in partnership with colleagues.
- Take action to safeguard children and adults at immediate risk, ensuring decisions are based on the best interest of those involved.
- Participate in a duty system on a rota basis, responding swiftly and effectively to crises while managing potential risks.
- Serve as a role model, offering mentorship and support to team members and new social workers, facilitating career progression within the team.
- Lead meetings and decision-making processes, including preparing court reports and attending court as required.
