Location: Lewisham

Contract Type/Length: Locum, ongoing contract

Pay Rate: £40 per hour (Assignment rate)

Shift Pattern: Full-time

The post will also provide the opportunity to develop skills in providing services to Deaf and Hard of Hearing people. Main duties of the Rehab Officer:

  • Undertake assessments of client's visual impairments 
  • Recommend, provide and teach use of various visual impairment equiptment and adaptions
  • Design and undertake mobility programmes 
  • Electronic documentation 

Requirements of the Rehab Officer:

  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills , a sound grasp of Community Care Legislation including Safeguarding policies, have a sound working knowledge of this service user group which includes people with other sensory needs who require community care support and have a good track record of partnership working with the Independent, Voluntary Sector and other Statutory agencies
  • Hold a professional qualification of Diploma/ Foundation degree in Rehabilitation studies or equivalent
  • HCPC registration
  • Previous rehabilitation experience
  • Must have a recognised qualification in rehabilitation and mobility work with visually impaired people.
