Job Summary:

Sanctuary Personnel is seeking a dedicated PBS Practitioner to join our client's Positive Behaviour Support Team. The successful candidate will work with children and adults with learning disabilities in various community-based settings. Responsibilities include conducting Functional Assessments, developing Positive Behaviour Support plans, and assisting families and staff with implementing positive behavioural interventions.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with undertaking comprehensive functional assessment using the principles of Applied Behavioural Analysis.
  • Support the development of Positive Behavioural Support Plans in partnership with the person and key stakeholders.
  • Ensure that Positive Behavioural Support Plans focus on improvements in quality of life as both an intervention and an outcome.
  • Coach families and staff to develop their knowledge and skills on behavioural interventions and models of support
  • Attend and contribute to review meetings.
  • Contribute to reports which detail the assessments and interventions conducted.
  • Ensure that people are treated with dignity and respect at all times.
  • Seek consent and to ensure people are responded to in a manner which promotes their best interests.
  • Maintain clear and comprehensive clinical records detailing direct work
  • Work with the PBS Practitioner to deliver, monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of Positive Behavioural Interventions.

 

Requirements of the Positive Behaviour Support - Outreach Worker:

  • Level 4 PBS BTEC or RBT Qualification
  • Valid driving licence
  • Understand and promote the CARE values
  • Experience of support of children & adults with learning disabilities/Autism and challenging behaviour
  • Experience of supporting children and adult with learning disabilities and/or Autism, their families and staff when experiencing difficult situations
  • Experience of working as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience of data collection and data analysis.
  • Willing to complete on the job training
  • Level 5 PBS BTEC
  • To have completed Signalong and Talking Mats training
