Job Summary:
Sanctuary Personnel is seeking a dedicated PBS Practitioner to join our client's Positive Behaviour Support Team. The successful candidate will work with children and adults with learning disabilities in various community-based settings. Responsibilities include conducting Functional Assessments, developing Positive Behaviour Support plans, and assisting families and staff with implementing positive behavioural interventions.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with undertaking comprehensive functional assessment using the principles of Applied Behavioural Analysis.
- Support the development of Positive Behavioural Support Plans in partnership with the person and key stakeholders.
- Ensure that Positive Behavioural Support Plans focus on improvements in quality of life as both an intervention and an outcome.
- Coach families and staff to develop their knowledge and skills on behavioural interventions and models of support
- Attend and contribute to review meetings.
- Contribute to reports which detail the assessments and interventions conducted.
- Ensure that people are treated with dignity and respect at all times.
- Seek consent and to ensure people are responded to in a manner which promotes their best interests.
- Maintain clear and comprehensive clinical records detailing direct work
- Work with the PBS Practitioner to deliver, monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of Positive Behavioural Interventions.
Requirements of the Positive Behaviour Support - Outreach Worker:
- Level 4 PBS BTEC or RBT Qualification
- Valid driving licence
- Understand and promote the CARE values
- Experience of support of children & adults with learning disabilities/Autism and challenging behaviour
- Experience of supporting children and adult with learning disabilities and/or Autism, their families and staff when experiencing difficult situations
- Experience of working as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience of data collection and data analysis.
- Willing to complete on the job training
- Level 5 PBS BTEC
- To have completed Signalong and Talking Mats training
