Shift Pattern

  • Full time, Monday - Saturday
  • Shifts are: 07:30 am - 18:00 pm/12:30 pm - 21:00 pm/department open: 07:30 am - 21:00 pm (or anything between the department open hours Monday – Friday) occasional Saturdays 08:00 am – 17:00 pm 

Responsibilities include

  • Supporting the Theatre Manager in leading, teaching, counselling, and appraising staff to ensure their development needs are identified and met.
  • Implementing personal development plans to meet ongoing development needs.
  • Supervising and educating junior staff, RGN's, ODP's, and providing clinical supervision.
  • Contributing to the overall advancement of the Operating Department to promote excellence in clinical care.
  • Acting as a role model, demonstrating high levels of clinical expertise, leading, managing, and delivering excellence in clinical care.
  • Preparing the operating theatre room for surgery, ensuring minimal waste.
  • Assessing patients' health and well-being across a complex and changing caseload.

Who They're Looking For

  • Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner.
  • Experience working in teams and with minimal supervision.
  • Previous leadership experience is advantageous, with award-winning training and CPD available.
  • HCPC or NMC registration.
  • At least 2 years of orthopaedic scrub experience.
  • Passionate, driven, and able to demonstrate dynamic thinking.
  • Completed SFA training is an advantage.
