Shift Pattern: Full-time (37.5 hours per week). Part-time considered for the right candidate.
Salary: £28,407 - £34,581 per annum

Job Purpose

Sanctuary Personnel has an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist to join our client and to make a significant impact on the lives of people with complex disabilities and those recovering from acquired brain injuries, including TBI and stroke, as well as other neurological conditions.

You will be supported by their experienced SLT team, including Band 6 and Band 7 SLTs and SLT assistants. You will also collaborate closely with their friendly, dynamic multi-disciplinary team, contributing to the overall success of their services.

They are excited to expand their neuro-rehabilitation therapy team based in Leatherhead, Surrey. Having moved into their new 48-bed centre in July 2020, they now have the opportunity to support more people experiencing disability.   • Join a friendly and experienced rehabilitation team, including support workers, nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and psychologists.
  • Receive support from the SLT team to complete your dysphagia competencies, with opportunities to attend VF clinics when clients are referred.
  • Participate in the key therapist/worker program for clients.

This role is subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks, including an Enhanced DBS with adults barred list check (provided at no cost if you are not already a member of The Update Service).

In this role, your duties will include:

  • Assessing and treating language, speech, swallowing, and associated cognitive communication disorders
  • Providing training and advice to colleagues, families, and carers for the holistic treatment and management of clients
  • Working as a member of a specialist multi-disciplinary team to ensure effective provision of speech and language therapy services for clients with complex neurodisabilities

About You

  • You are an enthusiastic and motivated Speech and Language Therapist with a keen interest in providing services for clients with complex neuro disabilities.
  • Passionate about your area of work.
  • Inspired by our values and behaviours.
  • Hold a degree or diploma in Speech and Language Therapy and have up-to-date HCPC registration.
  • Member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapy, working within professional guidelines.
