Role Overview:

Sanctuary Personnel are offering an exciting opportunity for a Band 4 Assistant Practitioner to join our client's established Theatre team. In this role, you will support Registered Theatre Practitioners to deliver safe, high-quality care to all patients.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the perioperative team in providing exemplary care within the operating suite, including performing scrub duties for cases within your competence.
  • Help maintain a safe, high-quality environment for surgical procedures by performing the role of a scrub practitioner in minor to intermediate surgeries, as well as circulatory duties for all types of surgeries.
  • Provide skilled assistance to the surgeon within the sterile field, which includes handling instrumentation, maintaining the sterile field, and completing necessary risk assurance processes associated with the operative procedure. Note that this assistance does not extend to advanced scrub practitioner activities.
  • Ensure that once scrubbed, the delegated registered practitioner supervises you within the same theatre until the case is complete.

  • Experience in an acute environment.
  • Good level of literacy.
  • Basic awareness of health, safety, and hygiene practices.

  • Relevant ATP qualification.
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
