Sanctuary Personnel is seeking dedicated and experienced nurses to join our client's dynamic multi-disciplinary team in advancing mental health rehabilitation. This is an excellent opportunity for a Registered Psychiatric Nurse, General Nurse with psychiatric experience, or a Dual Qualified Nurse (General/Intellectual Disability + Mental Health) to contribute to a leading mental health service.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be part of a reputable mental health service known for its dedication to patient care and rehabilitation. The facility offers a broad range of neuropsychiatric services for adults with serious and enduring mental health needs, including conditions such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Huntington’s disease, early-onset dementias, schizophrenia, and mood disorders. The service is one of only two facilities in Dublin with a Specialist Rehabilitation Unit (SRU) that accepts national referrals.

With a focus on recovery-oriented clinical practices, the team delivers evidence-based therapeutic interventions designed to enable and support patients in achieving their highest level of functioning and quality of life. The multi-disciplinary team includes professionals from Nursing, Psychiatry, Psychology, Pharmacy, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language, Dietetics, Physiotherapy, and General Practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Practice nursing in accordance with An Bord Altranais/NMBI guidelines and organisational policies.
  • Ensure safe custody, accurate recording, and administration of medications.
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care programmes.
  • Collaborate with other members of the multi-disciplinary team to coordinate care.
  • Participate in clinical induction, teaching, and education programmes.
  • Maintain accurate patient care records.
  • Take management responsibility for the unit in the absence of the Clinical Nurse Manager.
  • Act as an advocate for patients and their families, ensuring they are informed and counselled regarding care needs.
  • Contribute to the setting and auditing of professional standards.
  • Cooperate in rostering nursing and support staff to optimise resources.

Requirements:

  • NMBI registration as a Psychiatric Nurse or General Nurse with psychiatric experience is mandatory.
  • Post-registration experience in adult mental health services/rehabilitation/community-based mental health services is essential.
  • Demonstrated clinical experience in mental health rehabilitation and serious enduring mental health conditions.
  • Strong knowledge of the Mental Health Commission requirements.
  • Ability to lead, teach, manage, and participate in the education of student nurses and healthcare staff.
  • Knowledge and experience of health, safety, and statutory regulations affecting healthcare organisations.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
