Sanctuary Personnel is currently seeking an experienced Highways Service Manager to join our team in Swindon.
As an Service Manager , you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and management of highway assets within Swindon. This role involves strategic leadership, operational management, and stakeholder engagement to ensure the effective maintenance and enhancement of the highway network. The successful candidate will lead a dedicated team and collaborate with various departments and external partners to achieve the council’s objectives.
The rate of pay for this role is £380+ P/D.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the highway asset management strategy aligned with Swindon Council’s vision and goals.
- Ensure compliance with national and local regulations and standards.
- Oversee the maintenance and improvement of highway assets, including roads, bridges, drainage systems, and street furniture.
- Develop and maintain an asset management system to track the condition and performance of highway assets.
- Oversee the planning and execution of highway maintenance and improvement projects.
- Lead, motivate, and develop a team of professionals, providing guidance and support to achieve high performance.
Requirements:
- degree in a related field
- Proven experience working in highways at a management level.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders and build strong relationships across the organization
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
