What you will do:
- Assist the Service Manager in managing the unit effectively
- Exhibit professional leadership and provide 'hands-on' guidance to staff, influencing practices and attitudes
- Assume line management responsibilities for the nurse/support worker team, ensuring performance standards are met
- Support and coordinate referrals, admissions, and discharges, ensuring smooth transitions
- Lead Quality Assurance Audits and Clinical Governance, ensuring documentation is completed as per policy and legislation
- Deputise for the Service Manager when necessary
- Oversee the nurse/support worker team in delivering individualised care plans in collaboration with supported individuals, carers, and families
- Lead and advise on health care management and health promotion for residents
- Train and support team members to refer to external agencies for any health concerns or emergencies
- Advise and update professionals on the healthcare needs of the individuals supported, developing reports as necessary
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, managing compliments, concerns, or complaints efficiently
- Lead communication efforts with external agencies and services, such as safeguarding and regulatory bodies
ABOUT YOU:
- A valid RGN nursing qualification
- Proven experience managing a ward or large nursing team efficiently
- Ability to lead, manage, and inspire a team
- Experience handling complex and diverse care/rehabilitation services
- Understanding of challenges associated with working with acquired brain injury and long-term neurological conditions
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Mentorship in Practice (MIP) qualification or a willingness to obtain it, or extensive experience
